Adventurous preparations

With all this time on my hands with not working I have just completed my first advent box. First of all I painted all the boxes - thanks for that tip Jill at Cardinal Colours! I then set about covering each box with some free papers I had put aside from Crafting magazines. To complete the look i added lots of sparkle. This is probably the first craft project I am pleased with. Don't get me wrong i can see the mistakes I made along the way but in truth I loved doing it. I have made it for my 17 year old son. Possibly the next best thing has been buying all the surprises to go inside the boxes - some edible, some fun and some sensible. I'm going to make one for my hubby for next year who is feeling a bit left out!!

Debden Designs

Whilst at Debeden last week I completed a brag book all about my new Great Nephew: Darren-James West. I couldn't post the pictures until I had handed over the book to my neice and her partner. They loved it! So all that hard work paid off.

Debden Delights

I have just returned from the most marvellous weekend of crafting at the infamous establishment 'Debden'. Such fun!! 21 hours of good company, relaxation and crafting. I surprised myself by finishing 3 class pages and completing a memory book to celebrate the arrival of my Great Nephew DJ. I was amazed by the skill and creativity of the other girls. Some outstanding designs by the others, wow. It was a privilege to be there with them. I hope I didn't disgrace myself too much and can wrangle an invite for next year. Thanks girls; it was wonderful!!

Saturday Sign-in

Well hello again Mr Blogger; I'm here for a mini-witter about the last week. A hectic one work-wise although I was lucky enough to have Friday off. Shame the weather was so dismal though. Busy day today. Been and signed up for a lovely new kitchen ( yippee!!) can't tell you how long I have been waiting but today we signed on the dotted line!! Now we are on countdown. New boiler being fitted on Monday. 8 weeks for the units to be built then 2-3 weeks of chaos but fingers crossed it will all be lovely. I now know so much about magic corners, carousels, slinky taps and granite worktops. I have some lovely CAD photos which I will be sharing and boring everyone with! After my escapades with Facebook I have been reunited with my second cousin in Oz. The wonders of technology. TTFN xx

Technophobe

The twenty first century and the challenges of new technology are challenging my ageing and much addled brain! This week I finally signed up for Facebook, much to the amusement of my (much younger) sister and my Generation Y+ neices! I also decided to revisit the Blog as I have been sadly unable to complete all the things I have wanted to following the break, metal implant operation and physiotherpay for a broken wrist! Thank goodness for the NHS - they get every knock going but I for one think the treatment support and care I have had has been brilliant. And, I think I should tell people too.

Last week we went to see Lenny Henry Cradle to Rave - he was outstanding - there was I 49 and rocking in the asiles - never been known!Recommend the show for humour, music of my life (and Len's) and all round good time!
Going to my first Scrapping retreat next month - so been catching up on all my clever friends blogs to see the preparations and the stunning craft work they produce - I could be the one in the corner with the dunces hat on!!

Learning from Liverpool

Just returned from Liverpool - wow what a wonderful city. People were fab and the alber docks were stunning. I was attending a conference so managed to squeeze in some learning but also enjoyed the shopping experience at Liverpool One (great new handbag, by the way!) and a fab-u-lous restaurant darling called Gustos! I recommend the city and the experience. Must retrun as I didn't get chance for a ferry across the mersey, a visit to the Beatles museum or Anfield (sorry John!)

Missing Mojo

Had a lovely day at Crop yesterday; mojo had definitely left the building! Became overawed by the stunning skills of those around me and had no idea where to start. I enjoyed reeling up all Jill's ribbons - very therapeutic. Hope my inspiration returns for this weeks class. Need some serious crafting time - look out Liz I will be arriving with all my stash for some play soon! Thanks to all at the crop for their patience during my non-creative time. Now I have been able to revisit my own blog - lost contact for a while - still have my blogging L plates on should be able to return again and spice the page up a tad! Photos Liz - with no mojo and no tech skills methinks that might be a little unlikely. TTFN
